I can’t believe my vacation is finally here.
For weeks, it felt like something far off in the distance—something I kept talking about, planning for, and looking forward to. And now, suddenly, it’s time to pack my bags and go.
My adventure begins in New York City, where I’ll spend a few days before departing for Italy. I’m heading there for a wedding, but I decided to continue on afterward and turn the trip into a little vacation of my own.
Sometimes, you need to give yourself something to look forward to. A change of scenery. A chance to step away from your regular routine and see life from a different perspective.
Italy feels like the perfect place to do that.
I’m excited about so many things—the beautiful surroundings, the food, the people, and simply being somewhere completely different. I’m looking forward to slowing down, taking everything in, and allowing myself to enjoy each moment as it comes.
Of course, life doesn’t pause completely just because we go on vacation. There are still a few work projects lingering in the background, and I’m hopeful that one of them will come through. But for now, I’m trying to release the need to know exactly what will happen and when.
That isn’t always easy for me.
When we’re waiting for something important, it can feel as though life is standing still. But lately, I’ve been reminding myself that even during the waiting, life is still moving forward. Sometimes progress looks like receiving the news we’ve been hoping for. Other times, it looks like getting on a plane, exploring a new place, celebrating love at a wedding, or simply giving ourselves permission to enjoy what is right in front of us.
Maybe this trip is arriving at exactly the right time.
I’ll continue writing and posting every Sunday while I’m away, so I hope you’ll follow along with me. I’m not entirely sure what stories Italy will inspire, but that is part of the adventure. Sometimes the best moments—and the best stories—are the ones we never could have planned.
For now, my bags are almost packed, my heart is full of anticipation, and I’m ready for whatever comes next.
One flight, one destination, and one little step at a time.
Ciao for now!
